School Profile: The School of Continuing Studies (formerly the Centre for Continuing Education) at McGill University offers several programs in French, including an intensive (full-time) program and several part-time evening programs. The School is affiliated with McGill University, one of the most prestigeous universities in Canada and North America, and although some diplomas and certificates issued by the School (specifically those from the language & communication department) are not considered to be, strictly speaking, McGill University degrees, they are nevertheless recognized locally. Location: The department occupies several floors in a modern office building located across the street from the main campus of McGill University, in Downtown Montreal. The building is surrounded by other office high-rises and the atmosphere is that of a typical busy downtown district. Transportation links are excellent: the McGill métro stop (the green line) is only a block away and there are several bus stops within a two-block radius. Courses (General): The School offers an intenstive (daytime) French program aimed at students and new arrivals to Quebec, as well as several part-time (evening) programs created for working professionals. | |||||||||||
